Last week we covered VIA’s “Netnote” announcement regarding their tweener form-factor (between netboooks and notebooks) that ups the ante with netbook pricing and size while adding in little notebook performance, including digital TV, full 1080p HD video playback (that we witnessed first hand) and decent screen resolutions. Today at their GMB Tech Forum event here in Shenzhen we got to take an in-depth look at what appears to be VIA’s strategy to enable the local (shanzhai?) players much the same as MediaTek has over the last few years.
